Review : Schwarzkopf Palette Deluxe Hair Colour

14 May 2019 12:31

I recently put the Schwartskopf Palette deluxe oil care color to the test, I used the shade "Smooth red violet" on my hair, and I was very nervous to put it over the mess that was my hair, because I hadn't dyed my hair in over 3 months (I was considering going back to my natural roots - but I'm a hair rehab failure.) I had serious root regrowth, as well as just generally uneven colour all over my head.

Knowing that there was a high possibility of a hair disaster - I went ahead and did it anyway. haha! I like to live dangerously.

Spoiler: It turned out even better than I could have hoped.

I was delightfully surprised at how even the coverage and colour turned out, there was no demarcation line, no hot roots, just beautiful and even colour!

I'm going to give you a quick summary of my favorite things about this hair dye, as well as some cons;

  • Affordable (R99 at Clicks)
  • Easy to use, the formula is not too thick or too runny, it's a breeze to apply
  • decent range of colours
  • Colour is true to the colour on the box
  • Doesn't leave your hair feeling damaged after use

  • Even though it's afforable, it's still almost double the price of Renew hair dye (R54.99 at Clicks)
  • It's gentle on hair, but not ammonia free
  • It has a chemical smell - but not worse than your average box of dye
  • The colour fades quite a bit with every wash (This is a red-hair problem)
I am so pleased with my current hair colour, I feel like I am living my best hair life right now! BUT, I know myself, and I know that next time I go to Clicks to pick up hair dye, I am most likely going to be tempted by the price of the Renew hair dye. I highly recommend the Schwarzkopf Palette Deluxe hair dye, however if you are on a very tight budget Renew is a great alternative!

I also have a Youtube video showing you how I colour my hair, so if you are interested please head over to my Youtube channel, and while you're there hit the subscribe button ♥ It means the world to me.

Review : Dove Pure Care Dry Oil Shampoo + Conditioner

24 June 2018 19:08
Well hello there :)

Today I will be sharing my thoughts on the Dove Pure Care Dry Oil range with you. I've been a long-time fan of Dove, and I don't think there is really a single Dove product that I truly didn't enjoy using.

This shampoo (R80.95, Clicks) and treatment conditioner (R94.95, Clicks) is no exception. My hair really seems to be enjoying it! I think especially now that it's winter, my hair has been craving some more moisture. I've also been really into oils of all kinds, and I've been oiling up from my head all the way down to my toes!

After a lifetime of avoiding oils, we're finally learning that oil is incredible and it can work all kinds of magic without leaving your hair/skin greasy and gross.

The first time I smelled this shampoo the scent reminded me of play doh, for some bizarre reason. (I love the smell of play doh, fiy)
But ever since then, I can't smell play doh, no matter how many times I sniff it!

It smells lovely, and what really impressed me about the shampoo is that I could feel my hair was a lot smoother after only using the shampoo. Usually conditioner is where the magic happens, but with this range it start with the shampoo already.

The treatment conditioner is meant to be used as a treatment once or twice a week, but since I only wash my hair twice a week, the treatment has completely replaced a regular conditioner for me.

It leaves my hair SO silky and soft, and it reduces the frizz so much, that I am almost (almost) tempted to wear my hair in it's naturally wavy state.

I have a video on my Youtube channel where you can see these beauties in action, as well as my wash day hair routine:

Thank you for stopping by ♥

Review: SwiitchBeauty Eyeshadow Brush Set

29 January 2017 15:01
Hi my loves!

Today I am reviewing the 8 Piece eye shadow brush set from SwiitchBeauty. If you don't know about SwiitchBeauty, you probably don't have instagram ;)
(Fun fact: The founder is a beautiful young lady who is only 16 years old!) I love this brand, they sell trendy makeup products, skincare goodies, makeup brushes and other cool beauty gadgets - at really affordable prices. They also offer free shipping all over South Africa, it's truly an impressive brand that will no doubt continue to grow.

Now onto the brushes:

These beauties retail for R300 for a set of 8, which means you are paying less than R40 per brush! That is unheard of in the world of makeup brushes.

If you buy this set, you don't really need another eye brush ever again, except maybe a liner brush. There is truly a brush for every step of eye shadow application, and the brushes are really good quality, super soft AND cruelty free! No bunnies were harmed in the making of these.

I also wanted to make sure to thoroughly test them before writing this review, so I washed them to see if they would shed - and I am happy to report that between all 8 of them, not a single hair was shed. I'm so impressed.

This post is not sponsored, although the brushes were sent to me. I will never promote a brand or product that I am not 100% happy with, because I know how much it sucks to go out and buy something on the recommendation of a blogger you trust, only to be disappointed. I am extremely passionate about honesty and transparency in the beauty community.

I hope you enjoyed reading this post, and if you are in the market for some new brushes (or other awesome goodies) - go have a peek on SwiitchBeauty's website .

P.S. I will have a full review of the #Glowgasm highlighter palette up on my Youtube channel tomorrow.

Have a wonderful Sunday ♥
xoxo Adel
